Ride the gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain (2,881 m) and enjoy a romantic dinner buffet—on a different level from typical lunch buffets—at Alberta’s premier viewpoint, where sweeping vistas reveal countless snow-capped Rocky peaks and the beautiful town of Banff, as if wrapped by a grand folding screen. Operating period: May to mid-October. If you choose not to join the buffet, you’ll proceed to Starbucks after the gondola ride.

Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the hamlet of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 1,884 metres (6,181 ft). The lake has a surface area of 50 hectares (120 acres). When it is full, it reflects a distinctive shade of azure blue. The unique colour is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis by surrounding glaciers. / Only available for departures between June and October. Tours may not be available depending on local circumstances. / The Canada Strong Pass does not apply to Moraine Lake. Park entrance fees are remitted to Parks Canada.

Yoho National Park is a relatively small park located just west of Banff, yet it contains 28 peaks over 3,000 meters, offering dramatic Rocky Mountain scenery. In summer, you can paddle or stroll around Emerald Lake, visit popular landmarks such as Takakkaw Falls, Natural Bridge, and the village of Field, all accessible by road and short walking trails. The Lake O’Hara area, operated by advance reservation only, offers high-alpine lakes and more challenging hikes, making it a special summer-only trekking destination.

The vivid green color of the water is caused by powdered rock from the glaciers, which reflects the blue-green spectrum of sunlight. The rock type and the amount of it in the water causes the color to vary from lake to lake and month to month, even week to week.
